BIOGRAPHY / HISTORY

Established in 2015, The Thick has been playing together since High School. What started as playing hard rock at house parties and practicing in basements quickly started to sound like something much more audacious. Fast forward 10 years and The Thick has released two full length studio recorded LPs, two EPs, and numerous singles, all independently, and headlines highly attended shows in Toronto venues and Canada-wide, regularly drawing crowds of 200+ to prominent venues such as Lee’s Palace, Adelaide Hall, and more. They have performed at the Tall Pines Festival’s Battle for the Big Stage, Road to Revelree, and NXNE, and have supported touring bands such as Fionn from Vancouver and King Falcon from Manhattan. "Overall, The Thick has blown the doors off their niche, and has delivered an extremely memorable experience." - The Music Zine.

In March 2026, The Thick released their second LP “MONGOOSE” which has accumulated 100k streams on Spotify alone, with the flagship song “UNTIL I COME ALIVE” surpassing 50k. Many of the songs have also received radio play on stations: 81.1 MAX FM and 97.7 HTZ-FM. Out of the 10 tracks on the album, 5 have professional music videos that have amassed over 100k views on YouTube. The Thick collaborated with Juno winning and Grammy nominated mastering engineer João Carvalho (Sloan, Alexisonfire, Death from Above 1979), and Juno nominated album art designer Gabriel Altrows (Good Kid). While rolling out the single campaign, The Thick caught the attention of Grammy winning producer Adrian Bushby (Foo Fighters, U2, Muse) and Don’t Try Agency, based in London England.

Hot off the release of their new album “MONGOOSE”, this new era of Thick is heavier and harder. The Thick pays tribute to influences Cage The Elephant, The White Stripes, Wolfmother, and The Red Hot Chili Peppers. The attitude and audacity that encourages the vibe of these bands inspires us as an underground rock band emerging in an industry.
